- Main Purpose of Job
· Day to day management of Air Conditioning Department
· Develop Air Conditioning business and grow the department
· To plan organise and manage projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client whilst meeting all H&S regulations
Main Duties
1) General Management
· Manage the air conditioning department within the company
· Train Staff in AC installation, liaise with training organisations
· Sub-contract works where necessary
· Estimate AC Contracts
· Involved in the recruitment of AC operatives/ project managers
· Ensure correct certification to operate within the air conditioning/refrigeration industry, including managing REFCOM.
· Develop and operate AC operating systems for installation, commissioning and maintenance
2) Business Development
· Meet potential customer, establish a client brief and produce a design/solution to meet the customers requirement
· Ventilation and Air Conditioning design
· Prepare a quotation, submit a tender and follow up the tender with the customer
· Responsible for key account management of customers, as requested by Chairman.
· Key account management will involve, being the main point of contact and taking responsibility that the customers’ requirements are met. The objective is to maintain and maximise the value of business with each customer
· Prepare regular Reports project to the Contracts manager on a regular basis, drawing attention to any business opportunities of issues with each customer
· Develop our air conditioning and maintenance business
3) Project Management
· Manage AC Contracts within budget, programme, provide customer satisfaction and meet H&S regulations
· Produce and agree a programme of work and activities in line with the contract programme and our own resource requirements
· Monitor programme and resources throughout project
· Liaise with our production and installation department to ensure they can meet programme
· Supervise a team of draughtsmen, assistant engineers, apprentices
· Produce Health & Safety Plans , RAMS etc. and ensure these are met on site
· Work within the terms of our contract with our customers and ensure the best interests of the client are met at all times
· Attend pre-contract meetings, site meetings, site measure as required by the project
· Liaise with buyer on purchasing equipment, ensure competitive bids for all sub-contracts are received
· Place orders with sub-contractors, dealing with contractual matters
· Invoice/prepare valuations for all work carried out
· Liaise with customers, architects, consultants, mechanical/electrical contractors etc.
· Processing internal orders through the company
· Install/commission AC Systems where necessary

Essential requirements
· Experience of managing Ventilation and Air Conditioning/Building Services Projects
· Detailed Technical Knowledge of Air Conditioning, refrigeration and HVAC Commissioning
· Knowledge of the ‘Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007’
· Safe handling of refrigerants and F Gas qualifications
· Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
· Good IT skills – Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.

· Degree /HND/HNC in Engineering/Building Services.
· Project Management qualification.
· Knowledge and understanding of Ventilation and Air Conditioning Design
· Salary – £36-40k + car + pension
