- Our client is looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Manchester office.
As a Principal Engineer you will be representing the client, responsible for the delivery of challenging projects. You will lead the work of MEP engineers to ensure that your projects are delivered on time and to the high quality that our Clients expect. As a multidisciplinary practice we thrive on collaborative working and you will value the importance of sharing knowledge, assisting the development of junior engineers, whilst communicating innovation and best practice across the business.
Specific Tasks
- Plan, undertake, coordinate, and manage work on projects or programmes.
- Perform complex analysis using computer modelling; making, reading, and interpreting technical material.
- Apply judgement in the evalation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques.
- Undertake project research including surveys and inspections.
- Prepare bid and contract documentation.
- Project Manager role for single discipline projects and expected to represent the client at external client meetings.
- Proven ability in financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting, fee preparation, and allocation.
- Proven ability in different procurement and contractual arrangements for projects.
- Manage actual project costs against target costs and administer change control procedures in accordance with agreed scope of service.
- Accurate and prompt recording of individual work in Maconomy.
- Attend team meetings providing feedback on your/company development.
- Apply and promote policies relating to health and safety, quality, and training.
Additional Roles
- A recognised practitioner in the subject matter of the assignment and able to work independently.
- Provide guidance, instruct, motivate, and manage Graduates, Technicians and Consultants/Engineers/Scientists in the preparation of design information.
- Ability to organise and conduct several activities simultaneously.
- Established relationships with individuals from other organisations and generating market intelligence.
