- Our Client based in Dounreay, Scotland who have a requirement for a Cost Engineer for short term contract, until 31st October 2014, although it may run on
The rate for this position is between £45 - £55 ph Ltd (No overtime rates will apply)
OBJECTIVE
Work Package is related to identifying and justifying the cost impact of a site wide programme level rebase line - cost estimates relate to 'site disruption costs and increased risk' such as demobilisation, supply chain disruption, care & maintenance, extended site/project level support costs and providing robust cost and probability underpinning to discrete risks such as 'loss of site resources and knowledge' increased site maintenance costs, reduced workforce moral.
There is minimal engineering or civil related cost estimating this work package is related to 'people and supply chain' estimating
Desirable/Essential- Skills Degree Level Qualification (or relevant equivalent) 5 years
- Cost Estimating Experience or relevant equivalent
- Professional Membership/ or additional Qualification in Cost Estimating
- Experience in estimating programme/project level disruption costs and increased risk for people and supply chain activities
- Competent in developing detailed cost estimating sheets using identified resources, rates, time, scope
- Competent in defining class of estimates and estimating uncertainty ranges
- Competent in developing cost impact and probability estimates for defined risks
- Ability to provide robust underpinning and justification to estimates taken from site history, established industry norms, own experience
- Confident in obtaining required underpinning information for available site information sources, such as archives, historical cost/performance data, staff (all levels) and supply chain
- Confident to challenge, reason, justify and present the basis of the cost estimates to internal and external stakeholders (all levels) with consistency of approach, robust underpinning and logical reasoning
