- Our client is looking for a Civlis Technician with 3d experience to join their team based in the Manchester office.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:• Working under the supervision of a Principal Engineer in the production of schematic/concept designs for highways and drainage within defined project timescales.
Whilst these items are relevant on larger projects where work is managed and co-ordinated by a Principal Engineer/Associate, it is envisaged that similar tasks would be undertaken independently on smaller projects as follows.
• Liaising with other construction professionals in the development of designs.
• Undertaking drainage and highway designs using Civils 3D, Micro Drainage, and Site 3D (or other similar design packages).
• Assisting in the production of AutoCAD and Civils 3D drawing information and undertaking quality reviews of drawn information prior to issue.
• Liaising with internal design team to ensure design is fully co-ordinated.
• Getting involved with developing relationships with clients and other professionals with the aim of identifying and securing new job opportunities.
• Working independently in the production of schematic/concept designs and drainage and highway design calculations within defined project timescales.
• Liaising with other construction professionals in the development of designs.
• Undertaking drainage and highway designs using Civils 3D, Micro Drainage, and Site 3D (or other similar design packages).
• Assisting in the production of AutoCAD and Civils 3D drawing information undertaking and quality reviews of drawn information prior to issue.
• Liaising with internal design team to ensure design is fully co-ordinated.
• In addition to work on traditional civil engineering design projects, there is also a requirement to work with our existing staff to undertake Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies, or other similar reports, letters and general correspondence associated with this work. This is likely also to include liaison with Statutory Bodies such as Local Water Authorities, Environment Agency or Local Authority.
Other general roles and responsibilities include:• Responsible for the analysis and design of drainage and highways, progressing to detailed design and approval.
• Ability to produce drawings using Autocad software.
• Visiting sites and attending site meetings.
• Involvement in internal project design meetings.
• Attend external design meetings with clients and other design team members.
• Prepare correspondence and reports.
Knowledge:• Must have experience working in a similar role.
• Must hold an HNC/HND
• Must be IT literate with experience of civil design software packages
• An understanding of BIM requirements within civil projects.
• Must be technically competent.

• Must hold a valid driving licence
